Our new look!

We've been working for a few days trying to move everything over to our new home at SquareSpace! Thanks to the folks over there for designing our new site, which we think fits the overall themes of our little club quite nicely.

We're still working on getting the podcast buttons and Twitter links set up, but what do you think so far? Like the new design? Some of you may still get the old page while the DNS changes take place, but by the end of the day it should be good to go for everyone.

Diggin it! The logo made me chuckle. Reminds me of the branding for Highlander the Series box sets. Not a bad thing at all.

Minor bug report. If you capitalize the H in http in the author URL it chokes.

Congrats and tnanks from a new S&L member. I am amazed how much effort and work you all put into this. Something that only costs you time (and probably some money too). You really must love what you do. Now please, S&L male/female Dungeon Masters, let me finish the Cory Doctorow book first, before you do anything else awesome. :)

Hey Jason, I can't recreate that bug. I'll keep an eye out for it!

Looks great! I especially like the sword-shield-raygun logo and the way the background changes for Home, About and FAQ.

One correction: Categories is misspelled in the left nav.

One suggestion: the items under Categories are a little hard to read against lighter parts of the background images - maybe make the font of the items slightly larger or in bold? That's a minor issue, though.

Thumbs up - Sword & Laser is getting sleek!

Haha - the category misspelling was corrected while I was still typing my post! :)

really cool look, although burgundy is a quite feminine colour. the background scene should switch periodically as well, maybe in accordance to the current theme of the book that is being read?!? great interview with dan suarez by the way. i am a little sad because it sounds like he does not plan to keep writing darknet novelles in the future...

Looks awesome!

I do agree with Josh's comment about the readability of the categories though - maybe you could make them bold or put a semi-transparent background on that div to darken it slightly? I'd maybe go as far as increasing the contrast behind the S&L logo on the left to make it stand out a wee bit more too, but maybe that's just me.

Great job, it looks really slick. :)

Design looks good. Bad timing on my part, though, I'm updating my podcasts at the same time your RSS is still being worked on. :-) Looking forward to the new podcast.

Really nice design.

Bad thing, seems all old links to posts don't work anymore!

Amanda, you're right! That does suck. :(
